Variations on a Theme

I have been using the Greymatter content management system to drive my website for a few weeks now and have been very impressed with the results. The majority of my sites are written in the Perl scripting language and this gives me the flexibility to have my sites exactly as I want them. However, when I was looking for a way to refresh neilthompson.co.uk I looked for an open source script that would allow me to create my own look and feel and to easily update the entries. I had read an article on Greymatter in PC Plus magazine and decided to give it a try. Within an hour I had it up and running and a few days later had customised the look and feel to my liking.

The thing that I like about Greymatter the most is it’s flexibility. Over the last week I have been able to add both a rss feed and a version of the site that is viewable on a pda (www.neilthompson.co.uk/pda). The template and tag solution implemented by Greymatter made the inclusion of these options a cinch.

If you are looking for a simple way to manage your website then I would thoroughly recommend Greymatter.
